TECO Named One of Australia’s Best Places to Work 2025

There’s a reason why walking into TECO’s offices doesn’t feel like entering a traditional workplace. And in 2025, that culture has received national recognition: TECO Australia and New Zealand has been officially named one of The Australian’s Best Places, a list curated annually by research firm WorkL after surveying thousands of employees nationwide.

It’s a notable achievement for any business, but especially for one that operates in the industrial and manufacturing sector,  an industry not always associated with standout culture. For us, it’s a nod to years of steady internal investment in our people, processes, and long-term priorities.

Founded in Taiwan and operating in Australia and New Zealand for over five decades, TECO has established itself as a go-to provider of electric motors, drives and automation technology, energy solutions and home appliances and air conditioning. But beyond our products, it’s the behind-the-scenes work that has powered this recognition.

Importantly, the WorkL assessment didn’t just measure our policies; it measured our outcomes. Anonymous employee feedback from all the six TECO branches across Australia and New Zealand, including FCR Motion Technology, reflected high trust in leadership, a strong sense of shared purpose, and a consistently positive cultural experience.

TECO Australia and New Zealand achieved an impressive 76% Average Happiness score, classified as a “Good Score”. The company also demonstrated excellent results in employee well-being and retention, with a Wellbeing Risk Index of 15% and a Flight Risk of 15%, both deemed “Excellent”.

Employee feedback highlighted several key areas of strength within TECO:

  • Confidence in Management scored 76%, a “Good Score”. This is commendable, especially when compared to the industry average of 74% and a global average of 76%.
  • The company’s Net Promoter Score was 43.
  • Diversity & Inclusion received an “Excellent” rating with 74%, surpassing both the industry average of 74% and the global average of 76%.

In terms of the “Six Steps to Workplace Happiness”, TECO showed consistently strong performance:

  • Reward & Recognition: 75% “Good Score”
  • Information Sharing: 73% “Good Score”
  • Empowerment: 76% “Good Score”
  • Wellbeing: 78% “Good Score”
  • Instilling Pride: 78% “Good Score”
  • Job Satisfaction: 78% “Good Score”

The detailed Question Breakdown further reinforced these positive sentiments:

  • “I have a good relationship with my manager” – 84%
  • “My employer cares about my well-being” – 82%
  • “I enjoy my job” – 82%
  • “I am treated with respect” – 82%

A strong 81% of employees also reported feeling proud to work for the organisation.

For us, this recognition confirms that the systems we’ve been building, grounded in respect, transparency, and shared success, are doing what they were designed to do. And it motivates us to keep going.
